STRENGTH ANALYSIS RESULTS OF AN OVAL-SHAPED MOSQUE

This multi-storey mosque is located in Padduppa, specifically at Tempe Lake, Sengkang City, Wajo Regency, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The mosque is designed with a unique model similar to modern mall construction. Since it is situated near the lake, structural strength analysis is a primary consideration to ensure that the mosque can remain stable and strong under various loading combinations, including potential earthquake loads and the swift flow of river water. The mosque’s design also takes economic efficiency into account, including the dimensions of the beams, columns, and the depth of the foundation. The distance between columns reaches 10 meters to accommodate functional space and the multi-functionality of the mosque, although column spacing typically ranges from 6 to 8 meters. However, with advancements in engineering knowledge, practical experience, and the use of structural analysis software, it is possible to perform more optimal analyses to achieve the required structural strength (Structural Consultant Ayuddin/SCA).
